2/25 Dutch Masters Tour

This morning I received a message from Martin from EZ Flowers in Holland. He an his company are taking us on a river cruise on Sunday afternoon, the day we arrive in Holland, April 14. I have no idea of his plans or where we will be touring. He wanted to know the hotel we are staying in and the coach company that we are using.
I did go to target and purchased a Sea-Band motion bracelet and  Dramamine. I haven't had motion sickness, and never want to. The patches must be proscribed by your doctor.
Be sure to make copies of your passport, drivers license and credit cards to have with you. In each piece of luggage I have my name and home address and destination address and phone number.
I have the name and phone of the bus company. When we all have our luggage we will call them to pick us up. If they are in the pick up area for to long they are charged ,in turn they will charge us. Mark your luggage and remember we are not in a hurry. Wen we all have our hings we will call. We are in Holland we can enjoy being there.
Genevievi had a nasty fall, was thinking about not coming. She spoke with her Doctor and will be fine by departure date. Patty had some surgery as well, and is recovering nicely...Yippee!!
I have been looking at the travel tips web sites, they each have some good advice.
Keep checking the weather, it is a bit of a wet chill. Bring extra socks and  nice warm sweater and windbreaker.
Bring socks to wear on the plane, a shawl n case you are chilly, some snacks.
See you at the Wedding Program this weekend.

St. Patricks Day

> The definition of the English word tradition comes from Latin " traditio", the noun from the verb traderere or tradere( to transmit,to hand over,to give for safekeeping); it was originally used in Roman Law to refer to the concept of legal transfers and inheritance .According to Wikipedia ,the concept includes a number of interrelated ideas;the unifying one is that tradition refers to beliefs, objects or customs performed or believed in the past, originating in it,transmitted through time by being taught by one generation to the next, and are performed or believed in the present.

>

>

> St.Patrick lived in the fifth century,is the patron saint and national apostle of Ireland. He is credited for bringing Christianity to Ireland. In the centuries following his death, believed to have been on March 17,461.The mythology surrounding his life became ingrained in the Irish culture. The most well known legend is how St.Patrick used the native Irish clover to explain the Holy Trinity.

>

> Irish have observed this day as a religious holiday for over 1,000 years. Irish families would dance, eat and drink.

>

> If you have not celebrated St.Patricks Day it is time to start the tradition in your life and family.Late winter, early spring is a good time to break out some new customs, wearing , eating and drinking of the green.

>

> In Sioux Falls,South Dakota each year there is a St.Patricks Day parade and celebration. The Queen of the day and parade carries a bouquet of one dozen long stem potatoes, yes I said potatoes. The entire city celebrates.

>

> This bouquet of one dozen long stem potatoes is one that you can make and share with family and friends. Create one and take it to your favorite Irish establishment of party,or to the kids classroom for a traditional treat.

> Your local flower shop will have everything you will want to create tout St.Patricks Day design.Your florist will help you choose the perfect flowers and stems.

> This design is made by taking twelve stems of flowers. Cut the flowers off of the stem at an angle place the flowers in a vase of their own for a lovely table design.

> Wash 12 small red potatoes. Cut an "X" cut in each with a knife.Gently insert the longer stem into the "X" cut on the red potato . Tie some green and white ribbons at the base of the potato. place some sand or small stones in the vase for stability, insert the stems into the stones, add some foliages at the base, and have some fun celebrating St Patricks Day with a new tradition of your own.Irish eyes will be smiling.
